My name is Aishatu Garba and I am the mother of a little warrior Aisha who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) following her heart surgery. Living with this condition has been one of the most challenging journeys for our family not just emotionally, but financially. The medications that keep her stable, especially Ambrisentan and Tadalafil, are extremely expensive and hard to access here in Nigeria.
There was a very difficult period when Aisha couldn’t take her medications for months because we couldn’t afford to buy Ambrisentan from India. During that time, her oxygen levels dropped and her condition worsened. As a mother, watching her struggle helplessly was heartbreaking.
Then, Cardiac Community came into our lives. They stepped in when we had lost hope providing Aisha’s medications and lifting a huge burden off our shoulders. Their support has made an incredible difference in her health and quality of life. Since restarting her medications, Aisha has become more active, her oxygen levels have improved, and we’ve seen hope return to her eyes.
I can’t thank Cardiac Community enough for their compassion, generosity, and commitment to children living with PAH. Their help didn’t just provide medicine,it gave us time, strength, and hope.
Please, if you are reading this, support Cardiac Community in any way you can. Your donation can help more children like Aisha breathe easier and live longer. Every little bit truly makes a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you, Cardiac Community.
